Q: When you look back at your own childhood, are there memories of clothes, freedom, or play that subconsciously influence how you photograph kids today?

A:
For sure, all three. I’m very nostalgic when it comes to my photography and love drawing on my childhood memories. It might be a song, a summer night, or a pair of jeans I wore as a kid and you’ll often see references to these in my work

Q: Kids have such unfiltered personalities. How do you create space for children to show up as themselves rather than performing for the camera?

A: 100 percent. When a kid comes into the studio, I pick up on their energy. Are they playful or quiet? There’s no right or wrong. It’s about letting the session flow with their natural vibe. I play off what I’m picking up from them, always working around the child rather than imposing anything

Q: On a personal level, what part of your work feels most “you” right now, and how do kids fit into that chapter of your creative life?

A: Working with kids allows me to approach photography playfully. I love capturing those in-between moments, an authentic laugh, a sparkle in the eye, or a quiet pause. These moments show my creative aesthetic and tell my story. Right now, I can’t wait to be shooting outside again
